Jeff is a Pennsylvania native. He was a reporter and editor for The Herald Newspaper in Sharon, PA, for 15 years, covering county government, elections and politics among other areas before being hired as Director of Elections for Mercer County, PA, in 2007.
There he helped guide the county through a voting system transition and the implementation of no-excuse mail voting after the passage of Act 77 in 2019. He held that position until coming to NVAHI in August, 2020. His passion for this work includes 7 years as a member of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania’s Election Reform Committee and one term as the state’s local representative on the U. S. Election Assistance Commission’s Standards Board. He is honored to be able to continue the fight for reform to help all voters.
